One billion people—one-seventh of the world’s population and mostly poor—have no access to electricity. Of 51 low-access countries in the world 40 are in Sub-Saharan Africa., which means that 591 million people live without electricity today.  At current pace of electrification and population growth, this will increase up to 935 million by the year 2030.
